IF you have not yet seen/heard Huge, your education is sadly missing.

We saw the band last Friday at the Grand Opera House. Absolutely wonderful, my sister-in-law’s second cousin plays guitar with them.

The atmosphere was electric, packed theatre of all age groups from little children to the dementia sufferers Big Ian champions.

Boy, can he sing – virtually sinking to his knees to belt out the high notes. All the acts were amazing, especially Las Vegas Ken all the way from Leavening and The Busker, who looked as though he had come off the streets with his bottle of beer. Where was his dog?

Big Ian can “con” money for dementia out of anyone, putting down £100 and inviting the audience to match it; £800 was raised in moments and some anonymous donors. Fantastic.

One duff note: £6 for two tiny tubs of ice cream, £12-plus for a small lager and glass of wine. The bar was buzzing. Did they give a good donation to the cause? I hope so.
