WHAT a hoo-ha over apprentices.
The construction companies are concerned that in the future there will be a lack of skilled workers.
The Labour Party banned apprenticeships as cheap labour, remember Mr Miliband?
A local national building firm are shedding 200 own trained staff (why?) with more to follow. What is the point of training good staff then abandoning them?
My local hairdresser in could not get an apprentice for love nor money; one interviewee told her she could get more money on the dole. Appalling.
I thought people had to take jobs if one is offered.
There is to be so much building of houses in and around York so it is to be hoped the 200 job hunters are soon re-employed.
