Sir Winston Churchill’s funeral cortege leaving Old Palace Yard at Westminster, en route to St Paul’s Cathedral
ON Saturday January 30, 1965, Winston Churchill was buried and my friend Joan O’Reilly and I were at work at the exclusive F W Woolworths.
The store was closed for around two hours to enable the staff to watch the funeral, which was on a small black-and-white television in the canteen.
Was it really 50 years ago?
