HAZEL WARD misrepresents what she and myself actually said (Letters, January 24).

Hazel asked The Press to give her a break from my letters – in other words to silence me, contrary to her weak riposte that she doesn’t wish to do so. Why demand it in the first place, Hazel?

She says the Government wants to stop public-sector workers from striking, contradicting herself by claiming it is not to stop peaceful protest.

Adding, that it is fair to impose minimum percentage votes for a strike to happen, although governments get into power without any such restrictions.

Workers are balloted for strike action, just as the electorate is asked to vote for politicians, the outcome dependent on those bothering to vote.

Hazel then accuses me of arguing that the Conservatives are to be feared and we are to work until 100 with little chance of a pension. No I didn’t, I asked the question ‘at what age will the state retirement age stop rising?’
