IN RESPONSE to Trevor D Scott’s letter of January 24, we had good reason to advertise jobs in the Yorkshire Post.
We have exclusively focused on York recruitment over the past year, using The Press and holding open days at Guildhall in the city. These have been successful for us and we have been able to recruit high-calibre candidates from York and surrounding areas – so much so, we now have more than 140 people working for Hiscox in York from our temporary offices in Hungate.
What we’ve realised though is that we are not reaching enough of those locals who commute from York to Leeds for work. This is also an important audience for us to reach.
That’s why we have extended our recruitment advertising, through radio, the Yorkshire Post and other media, to cover a wider area.
We want to attract the best talent in the region and this is just one part of us being able to do that.
Alan Millard, Chief Operating Officer, Hiscox UK.
