JUST what part of austerity measures does City of York Council not understand?
On the one hand, it has been proposed to cut refuse collections in order to save money, whilst now debating a Media Art Centre within the Guildhall at a cost of more than £9 million.
Is it now a requirement for the powers that be to fritter our money away on unnecessary schemes? Considering the ill-feeling of York people to all the other such projects, you would think they would have learned their lesson.
D McTernan, Fossway, York.
