I RECENTLY had the frightening experience of an admission to York Hospital with a suspected and later confirmed minor stroke.
From the time of my arrival to my discharge the following week, I was in the care of a superb team of doctors and nurses.
I cannot praise highly enough the entire team of the immaculately clean ward 36 who treated me with such warmth, empathy and humour along with their expertise.
The acute stroke ward is a busy place under constant demand. I was aware that my condition, frightening as it was, was in no way comparable to the majority, more seriously afflicted people needing close attention.
Witnessing the dedication and humanity of the staff towards these vulnerable people was heartwarming.
Thank you team and YDH.
