MANY thanks, as always, to all of you who entered the ‘Yorkatt & Eric’ competition on the ‘Lendal Bridge Fines’ saga. Lots of entries and (nearly!) every one really good!
Mrs A Parker, of York, had the two discussing the “signage” on the bridge with Eric saying that CYC should have looked more closely at it.
Yorkatt replies saying that he thought they had… but missed the “£’’ signs! Andrew Jenkinson had Yorkatt commenting that his owner had said that Lendal Bridge should be renamed as ‘Overspendal Bridge’.
Steve Gibson of Bishopthorpe had Eric asking Yorkatt if York’s Council leaders would be refunding the fines “out of their own pockets” to which Yorkatt replies that they might try to do it by fining “All the pigs that fly over York”.
Runner-up, Cynthia Glasby, of Strensall, had the two discussing the old war film, “A Bridge Too Far”, with Yorkatt asking if council leaders were watching it, at a cinema, and it broke down halfway through, if they’d demand their money back?
Finally, the entry from Rodney Sykes of York was very funny, but would probably have had Yorkatt & Eric appearing in court!
The winner? Geoff Robb, of Dunnington, and his entry appears here. Brilliant!
