DRAGONFLY or damselfly, how to tell? When they are in the air it is very difficult to know which is which but, when they settle, all becomes clear. A dragonfly rests with its wings outstretched whereas a damselfly rests with its wings folded above its body.

Easy when you know, isn’t it! I only know because, the previous day, we saw one settle on the washing line, didn’t know which it was, and the reference book gave us this useful clue.
