Maybe there should be hard-hitting posters put up in the university common rooms and coffee shops on campus, and also in the pubs and nightclubs young people frequent.

These could carry the old saying: “Drink in, wit out” . Or perhaps: “Your parents and friends love you, the river does not.”

Videos and short films are fine, but how often will the young ones see them and really take it in? But in the end the River Ouse is not to blame. People should make sure they don’t drink too much and always have a member of the group who stays sober.
