York Press: Oh, it was a doodle Oh, it was a doodle

EAGLE-EYED readers of The Press have clearly spotted me in the act of scribbling (Letters, February 21).

All I can say in my defence is that I do not scribble my ideas on the back of an envelope, whereas in fact I can be caught doodling most days of the week. Research shows that far from being a waste of time, it’s a good way of remembering things.

Yours, scribbled in haste.

Coun James Alexander, Labour Leader, City of York Council.

If Coun James Alexander wants to retain a shred of gravitas, he should stop writing idiotic letters to the press

I'd love to know how doodling helps you remember, rather than actually listening to what people are saying to you and writing notes ?
if he was sat doodling in a meeting with me I would walk out

So basically he is implying that he sits at his desk with his feet up whilst DRAWING PICTURES - is that really the impression the leader of a city council should be putting across??
