Good work, Matthew

York Press: Good work, Matthew Good work, Matthew

YOUR correspondent of January 22 feels that 68 letters from Matthew Laverick seems to be more. I back Matthew to the hilt. Anyone who can chivvy and hassle authority has my vote.

Does he consider other regulars a bore, such as Mr Quarrie, Mr Robb or Mrs Robinson? People who write such sense and inform are to be applauded, after all we are fortunate to have free speech in our country.

Of course we do not all agree with everything they write, but they should keep on doing so.

We have a wonderful mix of opinions on the letters page.

Pamela Frankland, Hull Road, Dunnington, York.

I hope for the Lady's sanity that this letter is a spoof. For if it is, its a very funny one and I encourge her to write more.

"Anyone who can chivvy and hassle authority has my vote"

Is this a joke? Matthew is the most servile adherent of the status quo imaginable. So devoted to the Conservative cause that he can't even bring himself to speak up for UKIP. Far from chivvying authority, Matthew regards anyone who is not a servile groveller to the establishment as a rabid marxist. Yesterday, his alter ego RochingHorse (Matthew calls him Mini-me) even listed Blairite nutter Alistair Cambbell, right wing warmonger David Aronovitch and Danny Blanchflower as left extremists. And here's me thinking Danny Blanchflower was a 60's footballer

What I want to know is when is Matthew going to put his money where his mouth is and stand for Council. He is totally convinced that labour will be swept by his rhetoric, yet he can't quite bring himself to step up to the line.

Courage mon brave!

If you're going to praise someone, it's courteous to get their name right. Laverick indeed!

As it happens it was 63 letters not 68, so obviously Pamella Frenklind also feels it was more than it actually was, thereby proving the correspondent of Jan 22 to be correct.

I have no idea what the background of you or Matthew Laverack is. But suffice to say that it is obvious to any reader of these comments that the said Laverack must have offended you greatly in the present or even in a past life.

Show me one comment belittling anyone. Unlike you who sees fit to refer to me as an idiot. I am not impressed, young man. More to life that calling people names and nobody likes a bully. CaroleBaines

As Del Boy used to say, "He who dares wins, he who don't, don't"
I have no idea what the background of you or Matthew Laverack is. But suffice to say that it is obvious to any reader of these comments that the said Laverack must have offended you greatly in the present or even in a past life.
I mean if he ran over your granny or ran off with your wife we could understand your utter hostility towards him. Your bouts of savagery are reminiscent of the Ben .....Eubank boxing sluggings So what is it ? come on Jonthan put us in the picture.
Jonathan seems a refreshing voice of reason to me. This comment seems a little......'protest too much'. A bit treating Press readers as idiots. But what do I know? Just my gut feeling.

I think we all know who the joke is here ?!!!!

As usual, you show your complete ignorance, and that you are a misinformed, deeply prejudiced, little person with little relevance.

I'll educate you on your lack of knowledge about people who are on the left like you....

David Aaranovitch - son of Communist economist/intellectu
al Sam Aaranovitch. He suceeded Trevor Philips as President of the NUS from 1980-82 and was elected on a Left Alliance ticket (a group which includes the Communist Party of Great Britain).

David 'Danny' Blanchflower - leading Labour economist, who writes for the New Statesman.

I rest my case.

Now go away and study, then come back when you know what you are talking about.
