WHEN Tory MP Aidan Burley organised a Nazi-themed stag party, it was considered stupid but not racist.

Yet when Nicolas Anelka made a stupid gesture, which at the time very few people knew the meaning of, it was considered racist and anti-semitic. He is threatened with a five match ban and a fine.

What will be Mr. Burley’s punishment?

Completely different things. Once celebrates and encourages current anti-semitic far right politics, the other mocks far right politics of 75 years ago. Plus of course the people of the time, particularly the soldiers of ENSA mocked the Nazis in a similar way back then.
