Round midnight

WITH regard to your note at the bottom of David Brook’s recent letter (January 17), the Pauper Kings did stop playing before midnight, for a thirty second countdown to midnight, then started playing again.

I know – I was there.

I agree with Buzz lightyear. This really is getting old. Im the singer from The Pauper Kings and Im tired of having to defend ourselves against false information. Once again ill state, there was a DJ and percussionist on both the run up until midnight, then a break, and then also after midnight. We finished our set at 11:53. Im sorry if John Ridgeway cant tell the difference between a full 5 piece band, as opposed to a dj with a percussionist playing along to the dance track.

We are a hard working full time band and Im tired of this now. There were about 5000 other people who will be able to tell you we finished before midnight. Overall it was a fantastic event and I was pleased to play a part in it.

So lets get on with 2013 John!
