Can you help find copyright for cuttings?
11:05am Saturday 26th January 2013 in Letters By Reader's letter
Some of the cuttings from The Yorkshire News, formerly the Yorkshire Observer, which Julian King would like to know who owns the copyright
CAN anyone help? I am writing a family history biography about my uncle Arthur Charles Gomm (stage name Art Baxter). During 1956-7, he fronted one of Britain’s first rock ‘n’ roll bands, Art Baxter & His Rock ‘n’ Roll Sinners.
On Sunday, January 20, 1957, he performed at the Rialto Theatre Fishergate, York. I want to use some artwork from what was then The Yorkshire News, formerly Yorkshire Observer.
To do so, I need to contact the copyright owner and therefore my question is: “Does anyone know who currently owns the copyrights to the old The Yorkshire News (formerly Yorkshire Observer) newspapers?”
If anyone remembers this concert or has any information, theatre programmes, press cuttings, or photographs etc of Art Baxter and His Rock ‘n’ Roll Sinners, please get in touch.
Julian King (formerly Julian Gomm), Barrington Mead, Sidmouth, Devon.
