A PRE-PANTOMIME lunch was required prior to attending the Barbican to see the Cinderella matinee on December 23.
Our family of four opted to eat at the Fishergate Restaurant, which purports to be the main catering outlet at the Barbican complex. “An establishment where meals are served to customers” is the definition of a restaurant.
We entered the “restaurant” at 1pm. There were four people in there. The hot food selection consisted of pizza slices and hotdogs. We were informed that all the hotdogs had been sold.
We sat down to a sumptuous feast of one tiny mince pie, one lukewarm pizza slice and one chocolate muffin (inedible). Hardly the fare one expects to find in a restaurant.
