I WOULD be really grateful if you would convey my sincere thanks to the people who came to my assistance when I fell outside Thomas’s in King’s Square on November 12.

I am an 82-year-old widow and could not have managed without the help of the gentleman who picked me up, the very kind lady from Osbaldwick who stayed with me for such a long time, and the wonderful staff from Thomas’s who looked after me so well, in particular the young lady who took me to the taxi.

The injury to my arm was severe and I needed surgery. The staff at York Hospital were kindness itself from the moment I reached A&E and during the time I had to spend in wards 28/24. So once again my most sincere thanks to you all.

Audrey Singleton, Osbaldwick, York.
