Steve Cram the former Olympic athlete and 1,500m and 2,000m world record holder presented a work of art, inspired by the Paralympics, to help fundraising at St Leonard’s Hospice. His visit to York, as ambassador for Yorkshire Bank, also included a talk to the children at St Olave’s School.

At the hospice, he toured the building, met to staff and patients and presented the artwork to Emma Johnson, director of clinical Services. Yorkshire Bank has been helping St Leonard’s this year as part of its partnership with the national charity Help The Hospices.

Janet Morley, director of fundraising at St Leonard’s, said: “A visit from Steve Cram on the day the Olympic Torch came past the hospice is really exciting for everyone and we’re very grateful to our friends at Yorkshire Bank for arranging this as part of their continuing support.”
