FEARLESS fundraisers will step out of their shoes and strip off their socks to take on a daunting fire walk.

York Blind and Partially Sighted Society is hosting its second such walk on February 17 at the JORVIK Viking Festival where the fearless few will tackle temperatures up to 1,200 degrees.

Diane Roworth, chief officer of York Blind and Partially Sighted Society said: "This is our second year running the fire walk and we are amazed at the response we get from participants, their bravery and the amount of money they raise.

"These contributions are essential for us to offer support and services for over 1,000 people in York, helping them to live a full life, no matter what their sight problems may be."

"The fire walk is an inspirational and barrier breaking experience where you will discover inner strengths you never knew you had."

The walk will take place inside the Coppergate Centre.

Anyone willing to raise a minimum of £100 to participate in this unique challenge can sign up on (01904) 636269 or email christina.dunn@ybpss.org by February 6.
