STRANGE chocolate creatures and their edible ice castle have taken up residence in a country pub to raise money for Martin House Children's Hospice.

Chef Ashley McCarthy has combined five kg of Belgian chocolate, ten kg of icing and one kg of glucose for his annual chocolate heaven sculpture which this year is based on the Disney film Frozen.

This year's dark delight took more than 40 hours' work to create and has gone on display at Ashley's pub Ye Old Sun Inn at Colton near Tadcaster where customers are invited to donate to the hospice.

Alison Wragg, community fund raiser (North and East Yorkshire) for Martin House, said: “It’s hard to put into words the joy that Ashley’s chocolate delights bring to our children and young people. This year’s piece will be no exception; it’s truly exquisite!"
