A TEAM of fundraisers from an East Yorkshire care home have taken on the Ice Bucket Challenge.
The group from The Stamford Bridge Beaumont, took on the challenge at their annual summer garden party, organised by Karen Ratcliffe, which also included entertainment by Malton’s White Star Brass Band, and afternoon tea.
Karen said: “A charity close to our hearts here at The Stamford Bridge Beaumont is Candlelighters a children’s cancer charity based in Yorkshire. Several members of staff volunteered to take The Ice Bucket Challenge if they were sponsored on behalf of Candlelighters.”
The staff were led by Jackie Stonehouse, the hotel services manager, and the buckets of ice cold water were poured by staff and the daughter of one of the residents.
Sarah Paskett, general manager, said: “Everybody was so generous, we hope to have raised over a £100, the final amount will be confirmed by the charity when they have totalled it up, a great effort by everyone.”
