FUNDRAISERS in York have raised £1,091.47 for charity. Volunteers raised the money, in support of Diabetes UK, at Tesco Extra in Tadcaster Road, as part of The Big Collection to mark the end of Diabetes Week last month.
The volunteers collected donations, along with about 3,000 around the country. Linda Wood, Diabetes UK Regional Manager for the Northern and Yorkshire region, said: “We are delighted that so many people from the community came together to support the Big Collection in York.
We’d like to thank the volunteers for getting into the fundraising spirit and making the weekend so enjoyable and we’re grateful to the Tesco customers for their kind donations.”
