A SPECIAL event will be held at next month’s York Food & Drink Festival, to raise money for charity.
Adam Grant, 28, from Cawood, near Selby, whose mother suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, will help host the Secret Dinner Party to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
The event, on Thursday, September 19, treats diners to three courses, with each one served at a different York location, not be revealed until the night of the party.
Adam said: “We lost my dad very suddenly four years ago and this was a massive blow to us all. On top of this mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and MS around the same time. Despite her condition and losing her life partner, she still lives a very independent and full life; we are extremely proud of all she does - she looks after her grandchildren, drives herself around, cooks and is still a huge support to her family she always was.”
Tickets cost £35 To book a place phone Ian Savage at Parkinson’s UK on 0844 225 9842, email rf.yorkshire@parkinsons.org.uk or for more information about the festival, go to yorkfoodfestival.com
