Portrait afternoon at York Studios for Movember men
12:08pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in Fundraising fun
MOVEMBER men in York can have a free professional portrait taken tomorrow to help raise money for men’s health charities.
To mark the end of Movember, York Studios has organised a portrait afternoon to celebrate the efforts of the men of York.
Sam Whitton, studio manager and Mo Bro, said: “We’re doing a shoot for Movember this year, so we want anyone who has grown one to come to the studios between noon and 7pm on Friday to try and raise some extra money for the charities.
“Anyone who has grown one can have a free portrait of their ’tache to remember the day and raise some extra money.
“Women and children are also welcome and we have fake moustaches for them to get involved. We did it last year, and averaged £10 per portrait but we are happy with any donation.
“So many people do Movember, it’s quite hard to get donations. I think last year I made about £29 from friends and family, but with the shoot last year we made more than £200. Just give what you can and have a bit of fun with it.”
York City players and teams from companies around York are expected to visit for their portraits and Sam said booking was preferred, but not essential.
