SCHOOL children had a chance to see the Tour de Yorkshire trophies during a flying visit from race representatives.
The prizes have been touring the route ahead of the event, which begins in Beverley on May 3.
Pupils from Filey Junior School met paramedics from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the race’s official charity partner.
And youngsters at Overdale Community Primary School gave tour staff a warm welcome by wearing t-shirts which spelled out Scarborough to show their support for the event.
Leader of Scarborough Borough Council, Cllr Derek Bastiman, said: “Once again, the trophy tour has created a great amount of excitement ahead of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire. People of all ages enjoyed seeing the impressive trophies up close and schoolchildren had lots of fun learning about the race and getting out on their bikes.”
The race winners will be crowned on May 6 in Leeds.
