UNDERGRADUATES and pupils are making sparks in hands-on learning in a York school.

Students from the University of York’s department of electronic engineering and Millthorpe School discover together what they can do with electronics and technology in a weekly electronics club.

Third year undergraduate Harry Eddis-Webb said: “I have really enjoyed working with the pupils, we all share a similar love of electronics and technology.

“I am really impressed.”

Simon Bull is a design and technology teacher at the South Bank school.

He said: “This partnership provides great role models for my pupils, by working together they are acquiring important skills that will make them very employable in the future.”

Millthorpe School is one of three schools in the South Bank multi-academy trust alongside Scarcroft and Knavesmire primary schools.
