PUPILS at a York primary school academy have the backing of a city company thanks to the sponsorship deal.
Cargill, which employs 25 people at their cocoa and chocolate plant in York, have provided shirts, shorts and socks to the teams from Haxby Road Primary Academy.
The company has already provided PE kits for the school children, most recently for the Reception children who joined Haxby Road this year.
Drew Hackett, Plant Manager at Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate said: “It’s great to see the children sporting their first team kits.” Helen Suter from the Family & Pupil Support Team at Haxby Road said: “The kits really help to foster that sense of belonging that we work hard to achieve at the school.”
