CHRISTMAS cheer is being spread at York Station with free hot chocolate being given to weary shoppers.

The owners of newly-opened healthy food specialist ÜGOT have decided to do their bit to warm up cold passers-by in the run-up to Christmas.

From 4pm every day free hot chocolate and candy canes have been available, with Santa on hand to give them out today.

Joe Carnell, who opened ÜGOT’s debut store at York Train Station in October with business partners James Gartshore-Boulter and Jamal Edwards, said: “We have had a really good response to the business and we wanted to do something special for Christmas.

"The train station as a whole doesn’t have much in the way of Christmas decorations so we have got out our tree and lights, and thought we would help people get it in the Christmas spirit by giving them some hot chocolate.”
