A DEAL worth £11 million has seen the Audi dealership in Clifton Moor, York, snapped up by a growing Yorkshire car retail group.

The 13,000 sq ft York Audi and its sister showroom in Hull are now part of the JCT600 group and have become the company’s first Audi dealerships.

The two showrooms have a combined turnover of £30 million and employ 41 staff each and it is believed there will be no job losses as a result of their acquisition.

JCT600 chief executive John Tordoff said: “We have wanted to work with Audi for some time as the brand has a great fit with our offering. In Hull Audi and York Audi we have been able to acquire two great dealerships with excellent reputations and quality staff in cities we already know very well.

“We have enjoyed a successful start to 2009, despite a tough year last year, and these acquisitions show our confidence and prove that as a business we have weathered the worst of the economic downturn.”

Audi has become the latest addition to the long list of manufacturers already working with JCT 600. Among these are 20 of the world’s most respected brands, including Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedez-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen.
