KWIKSAVE convenience stores are to return to the high street next month after Costcutter Supermarkets Group has relaunched the brand.

The York-based supermarket group bought the rights to the name after Kwiksave went out of business in 2007 and has relaunched it with a new logo.

Nick Ivel, chief executive of Costcutter Supermarkets Group, said: “Kwiksave is an iconic brand that was a fixture on the high street for many years. Its core proposition was value and this is something that our new format of kwiksave convenience stores will continue to provide. Our three-fascia strategy with kwiksave, Costcutter and myCostcutter ensures we have the correct product for three distinct market segments. The kwiksave brand is very familiar to retailers and customers, and is backed up with the exceptional support service that Costcutter Supermarkets Group is famous for.”
