A new company based in Pocklington has been set up to help firms who are under investigation by HM Revenue and Customs.

The company, Bailey Tax Investigations, is run by Daphne Bailey, who was previously a tax investigator for the HMRC for 20 years.

She specialises in resolving disputes and investigations for businesses and individuals.

Mrs Bailey, said: “Being investigated by HMRC can be extremely serious.

“An inquiry can cause major disruption, and can potentially be prolonged, detailed, intrusive and expensive. If you are being investigated by HMRC, it is highly recommended that you seek out independent advice from a reputable tax investigator.

“You will need somebody on your side who understands the jargon and knows how HMRC operates.”
