LAW firm Langleys, which has an office in York, has taken a mighty upward leap in this year's Legal 500 rankings.
Where it was 145th by size nationally last year, it has jumped 35 places to 112th. It follows a massive growth spurt at both its office in Skeldergate and at its base in Lincoln as numbers on the payroll increased by almost a third to 295 people, half of them based in York.
At York, the recruitment was in every field, including clinical negligence, commercial litigation, commercial property, corporate and commercial, employment law and personal injury and clinical negligence. So great has been the expansion that the practice has had to rent accommodation opposite its building in Skeldergate.
The new ranking comes as the company revealed a 25.3 per cent increase in turnover in the last financial year.
Mike Williamson, managing partner at Langleys, said: "We have reported a growth in business, in employees and in premises - and the level of expertise we have on board is second to none."
