YORKSHIRE off licence business R&M Swaine is considering buying up Yorkshire’s Oddbins branches after the business said it faced administration last week.
Martin Swaine, managing director of the business, behind the chain called Rhythm and Booze, said he was looking at all the Oddbins stores in Yorkshire, including York’s, although he is waiting for information from administrators before he can be certain about the purchases.
Barnsley-based R&M Swaine doubled in size in 2009 when Mr Swaine bought up 34 Threshers and Wine Rack stores from First Quench.
Oddbins employs about 400 people in 89 stores in the UK, including in Harrogate and Wetherby.
