A SELBY-based security business employing more than 100 people has been bought out of administration.

Group Response Global (GRG) has been bought by St Helens-based Kingdom Security in a deal which will retain 100 of the 112 jobs at the business.

GRG, formed in 1997, provided security guards, CCTV, security fencing and barriers and facilities management to clients including Leeds United FC and Drax Power Station.

Charles MacMillan, partner and head of corporate recovery at Manchester-based accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers, who secured the sale, said: “While the demise of any business and the consequent loss of jobs is obviously disappointing, I was pleased to secure the transfer of the vast majority of jobs at GRG to Kingdom Security.”

Terry Barton, managing director of Kingdom Security, said: “We are delighted to continue our national expansion with the acquisition of GRG customers in Yorkshire.”
