Stephen Kennedy, managing director of CPP, will be the guest speaker at the annual dinner of York Professionals at York Racecourse on May 20.
His invitation to speak comes as his firm, one of the biggest employers in York, has successfully floated on the stock exchange.
As a member of the York Economic Partnership, the tough-talking Glaswegian boss will be able to give his own perspective on how the city is coping and the economic route it should take.
