YORK holidaymakers look set to benefit from a price war between two major airline rivals at the region’s airport.
Low cost airline Ryanair celebrated its new base at Leeds Bradford International Airport yesterday by announcing it was prepared to match sale prices on flights offered by Leeds-based Jet2.com
The Irish company aims to attract a million passengers on board its 14 new routes from Leeds Bradford in the first 12 months. Two of its aircraft are now based at Leeds Bradford allowing the company to offer 63 weekly return flights to and from the airport at Yeadon. Its 14 new routes include: Carcassonne, Faro, Ibiza, Knock, Krakow, Limoges, Malaga, Malta, Montpellier, Murcia, Nantes, Palma, Pisa and Venice Treviso.
