INVESTORS in York have been invited to get a share of the London Stock Exchange after one of the oldest stockbrokers in the UK moved to the city.

Redmayne Bentley has relocated to new offices at 20 Bootham after outgrowing its previous premises above Brown’s department store, in Davygate.

The firm’s senior partner, Keith Louden, also wanted to give the York office a more prominent location to encourage people to drop in from the high street.

Redmayne Bentley, which offers a full range of stockbroking services, including share dealing and investment management, first came to York in 1998.

To celebrate moving into the firm’s larger premises in Bootham, branch manager, Paul Lumley, invited one of their longest-standing clients, Harry Atkins, to cut a ribbon. The 82-year-old has been a client of Redmayne Bentley since 1927.
