A CHARITY supporting serving and former officers in finding new careers after leaving the military has opened its northern office in York.

The Officers’ Association (OA) has this week opened its new office in the Innovation Centre at York Science Park. The previous office was in Leeds but the OA decided to relocate because of York’s “improved travel links and the fact that many former officers live in and around York”.

In addition to the new office, Esme Dickson has recently joined the OA as an employment services and events co-ordinator. She is based in the York office, helping to deliver more events and support to former officers.

Pete Liddle, regional business development manager, said: “As the regional strategy for the OA progresses, the new office will make us more effective when delivering services to the officer community in the North. From September, we have confirmed a series of engaging events that will support officers into new careers.”
