THE latest in world leading dental technology has arrived in York as a cosmetic firm revolutionises the way it works following a £30,000 investment.
Andrea Ubhi Dentistry invested the sum in a Trios digital scanner, replacing the need for tooth impressions to be taken.
Instead the scanner captures a 3D image of the mouth and teeth, with an image sent instantaneously to dental laboratories so work laser cut models can begin within seconds.
Lead implant surgeon Dr Adam Glassford said: “This has had a massive impact on our dental implant treatment journey. We now scan at the surgical stage, then after healing three months later, we simply fit the implant crown, by-passing two treatment steps usually done before fitting. It feels like a major step forwards in technology and also in the future of dental implants.”
