YORK accountancy practice Garbutt + Elliott has announced the promotion of Laura Masheder to a director role.

Ms Masheder, a specialist in the charities and not-for-profit accountancy sector, joined the firm’s York office in 2003 as a trainee. During her time at the practice she also received the Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA), recognising her expertise in the sector.

In her new role Ms Masheder will utilise her experience gained from working with charities to further expand the firm’s offering.

INTERNATIONAL cable cleat manufacturer Ellis has appointed Stuart Helm as its new national sales manager.

Mr Helm, who previously worked as product sales manager for Deep Sea Electronics, will work under Ellis’ global sales director, Tony Conroy and will take responsibility for Ellis’ UK sales presence.

The role includes identifying and developing new sales opportunities, and working with the North Yorkshire company’s existing customer base.

Based in Rillington, Ellis sees 50 per cent of its annual £7 million turnover come from UK sales.

QHOTELS, the UK’s largest golf resort operator, has appointed hotelier Andrew Fox as regional general manager for the group’s northern hotels.

Mr Fox, who has more than 20 years’ experience with some of the UK’s hotel brands, will oversee operations at Aldwark Manor, near York, the Westerwood Hotel, near Glasgow, and will be the on-site general manager at Slaley Hall, in Northumberland.
