A YORK-based business has linked up with an environmental company and promised new jobs for the city.

York's Autohorn Group has this week announced an investment in £2.7 million firm ASL Environmental, based in Bristol, as part of its portfolio expansion.

David Adams, a director of the Autohorn Group, said the company was “a highly regarded business within the South West with an excellent reputation for customer service and innovation in environmental sustainability”, and Autohorn hoped to boost its turnover to £10m in the next decade.

He said: “We hope our investment and expertise will take the business to the next level by developing its use of technology which will further enhance its service and customer base.”

Lee Underwood, who is also a group director, said: “Our investment into the business is also hugely positive for York.

“It will bring wealth to the city and we are always looking for further investment opportunities within the city and wider region.”

“We believe that there is an ever increasing pool of talent within York and we are really keen to create new jobs which meet demand and encourage people to stay in the city.”

The Autohorn Group established a national waste management business in 2015, bringing 40 new jobs to the city and growing to a turnover of £3.4 million.

The Autohorn Group includes a number of national and York based companies including Autohorn Fleet Services which is currently based on Leeman Road, but recently won planning permission for a new base on Clifton Moor.
