EAST YORKSHIRE-BASED HMRC-handling and tax dispute specialist Independent Tax has expanded its team with the appointment of a Senior Associate with more than 20 years of experience of working for both HMRC and local accountancy firms.
Elaine Raywood was head-hunted by the Independent Tax team earlier this month but had previously worked with its managing partner, Gary Brothers, many years ago when they were both based at the HMRC office in Goole.
She will be based at the company’s headquarters at Brackenholme, near Selby.
Her career with HMRC took her around East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire before she left to join Townends Chartered Accountants, where she was responsible for a varied client portfolio for almost eight years. More recently, she spent three years with JWP Creers LLP in Selby, working with clients on a wide variety of tax queries.
She said: “My HMRC and customer-facing role here is already evolving and I’m looking forward to developing it further by getting involved in a broad range of tax-related issues.”
