THE expansion of a legal firm means that an office building in the centre of York is now fully occupied.

Pryers Solicitors LLP, which already occupies space on the ground floor at Quartz Point, has signed a new ten-year lease for an additional 2,500 sq ft on the second floor, taking its total space within the building to 7,514 sq ft.

The Evans Property Group’s 11,546 sq ft office building is on The Stonebow, immediately opposite the Hungate area of York, where a £150 million residential and leisure quarter is being developed in partnership with Evans Property Group. In addition to Pryers Solicitors, the building is home to high-profile tenant Mott MacDonald. Property agents on Quartz Point are Flanagan James and Laurence Hannah and Pryers Solicitors was unrepresented.

Tom Best, property manager at Evans Property Group, said: “Quartz Point has been welcomed into the York office market and has attracted occupiers seeking Grade-A office space in the traditional heart of the city, where supply is severely limited.

“There is a host of development underway within the Hungate area, making it a vibrant place to live and do businesses, and we are pleased to have facilitated the expansion of Pryers Solicitors within the building.”

Ian Pryer, partner at Pryers Solicitors LLP, said: “We are delighted to take up this opportunity of additional office space in this increasingly buoyant part of York. With the backing of our new owners, The Pure Group, Pryers continues to go from strength to strength.”

Richard Flanagan, at Flanagan James, said; “Grade-A office space in this sought-after area of the city is in short supply, and the fact that Quartz Point is now fully let to a high-profile tenant line-up signifies the success of the building.”
