A YORK charity that has raised more than £14 million since it was founded three decades ago has announced a fundraising dinner in the city to help start celebrations for its 30th anniversary.
York Against Cancer, which counts establishing the Cancer Care Centre at York Hospital among its many achievements, is holding its black-tie Yorkshireman’s Dinner at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, Fossgate, on October 26.
Over the years, the dinner has raised thousands of pounds towards the charity’s work improving the lives of cancer patients, their families and carers in York and the surrounding area. Funds raised by the event have also helped fund its work in research, information and education.
Tickets, at £70 a head or £700 for a table of ten, are available by emailing heather.atkinson@yorkagainstcancer.org.uk
