AN INNOVATIVE company from East Yorkshire has had a double dose of royal recognition with an invitation to Buckingham Palace and the presentation of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
SG Technical Systems Ltd, based in Market Weighton, supplies high-quality, reliable doors, access equipment and engineering systems combining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic elements.
Managing director Simon Chacksfield and office manager Maura Chacksfield attended a Buckingham Palace reception, at which the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and many other members of the Royal Family were present.
Then a few days later the Queen’s Award was presented to the company by The Lord Lieutenant for the East Riding of Yorkshire, the Hon Susan Cunliffe-Lister.
As well as employees from SG Technical Systems, also attending the event were representatives from a number of its key suppliers, most of whom are local. They were invited as a thank-you for their support since the company was set up in 2010.
“The reception at Buckingham Palace was a wonderful evening. It was superbly organised in the most fabulous surroundings and very much enjoyed,” said Mr Chacksfield.
“SG Technical Systems is a highly innovative and forward-thinking business.
“Winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a significant achievement for any business and we are very proud to receive this prestigious recognition.”
