A YORK architect has joined chancellor George Osborne in attending the 7th UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue.

Over the weekend, the chancellor of the exchequer began his week long tour of China, where he aims to increase cooperation and understanding between the UK and China, and open up billions of pounds of potential opportunities.

Mr Osborne is joined on the trip by a senior delegation from the North of England, including Anthony Lymath, international associate at York chartered architectural practice DWA Architects.

While on the trip, Mr Lymath will attend a mixture of official lunches, speeches and receptions. In between, various business opportunities have also been arranged to help strengthen links between China and the York based architectural practice.

Mr Obsorne's trip will see him embark on a tour that is set to encompass thousands of miles across China, making stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
