A YORK based online ale retailer has launched a "supporters club" in a bid to help the UK's micro-brewing industry.
Brothers Chris and Scott Heslop, and friend Anthony Beswick launched online bottled beer business Brewd.com earlier this year.
They have now established a Brewd Supporter Club, helping people to support brewers from as little as £3 a week in return for beer deliveries.
Based at York Eco Business Centre, in Clifton Moor, Brewd approached the centre's support organisation and the Ready for Business team for guidance in setting up the business.
Ready for Business is the start-up programme delivered by the Cavendish Consortium through a network of enterprise agencies, including National Enterprise Network in Yorkshire.
The programme is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills via the Regional Growth Fund initiative and in association with Barclays.
Chris Heslop was introduced to Ready for Business Advisor, Norman Whtye who helped him secure the additional capital needed to launch Brewd.com via the York-based White Knight Fund.
Mr Heslop said: "Norman and his colleagues have been incredibly helpful to say the least. I would recommend anyone looking for help in setting up a new business venture to seek guidance from Ready for Business."
