TWO North Yorkshire hair salons have been shortlisted in the 2014 British Hairdressing Awards.
Watkins-Wright Hairdressing & Beauty in Thirsk and Halo Hair and Beauty in Harrogate have won a place in what has been dubbed the "oscars" of the hairdressing industry.
The salons' entries consisted of four photographic images that showcased their talent within their chosen hairdressing speciality.
Judged anonymously and independently by iconic industry names, they will now submit a further four images to create a collection of eight that are again judged to reveal the definitive winners.

These creative talents will come together to celebrate the industry on Monday 24th November at The Grosvenor House, in London.
Executive Director of Hairdressers Journal International, which organises the awards, Jayne Lewis-Orr said: "Congratulations to all our finalists on their achievements to date as the level of work submitted was exceptional, making it a difficult task for our highly respected panel of judges.
"The work of these individuals sets the benchmark for creativity and ensures that British hairdressing receives the respect it so rightly deserves."
