New vice president for chamber of commerce

THE managing director of a York technology firm has been appointed vice president of York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
Edward Everard will support President, Suzanne Burnett, in the Chamber, representing and lobbying on behalf of local business, and will also deputise for her.
The York-born businessman is sales and marketing director of Saville Audio Visual, having started with John Saville and Sons photographic shop in Goodramgate in 1970.
Speaking about his new chamber role, he said: "There is firm evidence the truly awful recession is now behind us and I'm keen to do my bit for the local economy, especially helping new start-ups to develop and prosper. I feel privileged to have been invited to work more closely with the Chamber."
Suzanne Burnett said she was delighted to have Ed on board,adding: "He has a great deal of business experience and will be a great asset to the Chamber."
