A NORTH Yorkshire bottled water producer has become the sponsor of England's national cricket ground just weeks after securing the county contract.

Harrogate Spring Water has been unveiled as The Official Water of England Cricket at Lords Cricket Club in the firm's biggest sponsorship deal to date.

The sponsorship announcement comes as the brand reveals a new look across its entire Harrogate Spring Water range, with new ‘Diamond Bottles’ carrying the England Cricket logo and ‘Official Water of England Cricket’ on all new labels and packaging.

The news comes as the family-owned company’s £8 million investment in its bottling facility in Harrogate, is due to begin production of the new product. The 23,000 sq ft. extension to the existing building has more than doubled Harrogate Spring Water’s current facilities.

James Cain, managing director of Harrogate Water Brands, said: “We’re thrilled to work with the England Cricket board to become The Official Water of England Cricket.

"The sponsorship deal is with one of the best cricket teams in the world is a major statement of intent from Harrogate Spring Water, and emphasises our commitment to maintaining our position as the No.1 premium British Spring Water."

Harrogate Spring Water’s partnership with the England Cricket Board and re-brand comes on the back of a progressive move that will aim to quadruple Harrogate Water Brands’ current business output, and follows the firm signing up to be official water partner for Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Mr Cain said: “Since 2002, we’ve achieved annual growth of more than 30 per cent, significantly ahead of the current market trend.

"To capitalise on this we have invested £8 million in a state-of-the-art, bottling facility, to significantly increase the capacity we can deliver and cater for growing demand.”

The sponsorship deal will see England cricketers provided with Harrogate Spring Water at every home Investec Test Match, Royal London One-Day International and NatWest International T20 starting with the team’s first international fixture of the summer, the NatWest International T20 against Sri Lanka at The Kia Oval on May 20.

The partnership with the ECB also includes sponsorship of the on pitch drinks break during each International match, broadcast live on Sky Sports. The ‘Harrogate Spring Hydration Break’ will be supported by stadium announcements and branding.
